Hey Everyone!!! Just talked with Javier and Johan (our Costa Rican & Peruvian Instructors) and they are Awesome!! Javier is in Ollantaytambo and Johan is in Cusco right now. A few things they asked us to remind you about:
- We will spend 3 days on the first project (school dining room floor & roof). You will be helping create the concrete floor alongside Peruvian parents of kids in the school (we will be in a supportive role, not on the roof or forming concrete). Please make sure you have clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. - Our second project is in support of a classroom. They are asking us to consider bringing small class supplies (books in Spanish ages 5-11, pencils, pens, erasers, small staplers w/staples etc.). - Its currently about 60 degrees in Ollantaytambo, and 'misty', and gets as low as 40 degrees (evening/night). Also, this is the rainy season. Make sure you pack a rain jacket and adequate warm gear. - Make sure you get LOTS of sleep, eat well, drink LOTS of water before we leave Thursday. It'll make the long day of travel go better. Really excited to get going!!! Sr. Gesler & Sra. Garcia
